AAPI Data is based at UC Berkeley—partnering with the Asian American Research Center (AARC) and the Institute for the Study of Societal Issues (ISSI). This affiliation marks a significant step in AAPI Data’s journey, expanding our ability to advance research and policy initiatives that uplift AA & NHPI communities.

AAPI Data started in 2013 with a simple yet daring hope: that through the relentless pursuit of research innovation and policy impact, we can make a meaningful difference in the lives of our communities. Now, over a decade later, AAPI Data has become a leading voice in shaping policy and public narratives through data-driven insights.

The Asian American Research Center at UC Berkeley is a preeminent research center for the study of Asian Americans/Asian diasporas in national, hemispheric, and global contexts. The Center works to raise public awareness of Asian American/diaspora issues and advance cutting-edge research, develop innovative curricula, and promote community-campus engagement.

Together, we draw on the talent of students, faculty, staff, and alumni of UC Berkeley, and our commitments to producing insights that drive meaningful and enduring solutions for our communities.
