Social Media and Web Design Specialist, AAPI Data
Patricia Gasaiwai is the youngest daughter to Jeremiah and Vika Gasaiwai and from the village of Waitabu, Taveuni in the Fiji Islands. She was raised in Southern California and is a recent graduate from UC Riverside with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Media and Cultural Studies. While studying, Gasaiwai was a member of UCR’s Pacific Islander Student Association (PISA) as the Social Media Coordinator and went on to become the Club President her senior year. She also worked as a Student Program Coordinator for Asian Pacific Student Programs (APSP) and received the Grace Jean Mee Yoo Unity Award in recognition of her outstanding leadership and service to the Asian and Pacific Islander community of UC Riverside.
In addition to her studies, Gasaiwai has a passion for content creation and social media, founding YouTube Channel Pat Mari in 2018 and accumulating over 800,000+ views and 17,900+ subscribers. She is joining AAPI Data as the new Social Media and Web Design Specialist. Gasaiwai hopes to utilize social media to show more representation for Pacific Islanders, shed light on important issues in the community and lastly, influence younger generations to pursue their deepest dreams.
