Assistant Director, AAPI Data
Alton is a tireless advocate and practitioner whose work lies at the intersection of policy and the Asian American & Pacific Islander (AAPI) community.
Previously, Alton worked as policy advisor to the Congressional Asian Pacific American Caucus (CAPAC), where he coordinated a broad communications platform to amplify the concerns of AAPI constituencies. He also worked at Asian and Pacific Islander American Vote (APIAVote) in 2015-2016, where he engaged dozens of community-based organizations to develop their civic engagement strategy – combining direct voter contact, effective digital campaigning, and inclusive outreach plans. Prior to moving to D.C., he studied Sociology and Government at Wesleyan University, where he chaired the Asian American Student Collective and taught a course on Asian American history.
Alton is proudly born and raised in the San Gabriel Valley outside of Los Angeles.
